What This Coloring Page Features

This delightful printable sheet showcases the purple, suction-cup-covered friend that fans first met at Sunnyside Daycare. The artwork typically features this goofy-looking cephalopod in a cheerful pose, showing off all eight of his long, bendy, and stretchable tentacles. Kids will love tracing the curves of his friendly smiling face and the big, expressive eyes that made him such a memorable background character in the film.

Benefits of This Coloring Activity

Beyond just being a fun way to pass a rainy afternoon, working on this sheet offers wonderful developmental advantages for young children. As kids carefully color inside the lines of the winding tentacles, they are actively strengthening their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Choosing colors—whether they want to keep him classic purple or invent a brand new rainbow-striped alien look—helps boost cognitive decision-making and sparks boundless imagination.

How to Use This Coloring Page

Using this printable activity is as easy as 1-2-3! First, simply download the high-resolution image file to your computer or tablet. Encourage storytelling by asking your child to imagine what kind of silly games this character plays with the other toys when nobody is looking.
Display the finished masterpiece proudly on the refrigerator or classroom bulletin board to build your child’s self-confidence.
Use the coloring time to talk about real ocean animals and how actual octopuses use their amazing tentacles in the wild.

This creative activity is wonderfully versatile and adaptable for various developmental stages. Toddlers and preschoolers (ages 3 to 5) will enjoy the broad shapes and simple outlines, even if their coloring goes outside the lines.
